AI-assisted software development is very fast nowadays. Decision making and defining requirements are not.
You can build a PoC, a prototype, or a solo project 10× faster, but real enterprise projects still have a bottleneck. And that is not bad: it is okay for humans to make the decisions and define the requirements.
I'm not complaining, just stating a fact. Software engineering is faster in the coding phase and in QA automation. The rest remains the same as before, or is even slower.
AI can help refine requirements, but the final decisions must still be made by the people who will be accountable for them.
Let's stop pretending that AI has made humans obsolete when AI takes no accountability.
